| Skittle Vodka! |
26 Apr |
Makting it is easy, and actually pretty quick for infused alcohol… heres how you do it:
You need:
a bunch of skittles
empty/clean water bottles or jars (one for each color you plan on making)
cheap vodka (Svedka)
12 oz measuring cup with pour spout
coffee filters
large funnel
bottles or jars for packaging
Start by separating out the skittles by color. Decide how many ounces of each color you want… Then collect 8-10 skittles per ounce of vodka, so for an example I did 8 ounces of each and used about 80 skittles of each color.
Next put the skittles with the correct amount of vodka in each water bottle/jar and shake a bunch.
Let them sit over night
Once everything is dissolved and it looks kinda murky/thick but nothing big still floating, it is time to start filtering. This part gets MESSY so do this in an easy to clean location. After giving the a bottle one last good shake, put the funnel into the measuring cup and line it with a few coffee filters. Pour the vodka through the filter… this process takes patience and gets easier as you figure it out a little. Then transfer the funnel to the decorative bottle and line it with one filter. Pour the vodka through again and fill the bottle. Cork the bottle, clean out the funnel and measuring cup and repeat with all of the colors. I choose to freeze mine and mix it with sprite or club soda (less sweet).
Enjoy!

1. Use a makeup brush medium or fingers to apply Gold / brown eye shadow over entire lid, including the brow bone.
2. Using your eyeshadow or eyeliner black, draw little wonky “C” shapes on the outside corner of the eyelid above the crease.
If you use liquid eyeliner or black eyeshadow, use a small makeup brush or Q-tip to apply, what forms “C” twisted. By using black eyeshadow, a technique to thwart (wetting application tool – brush or Q-Tip) will give the best shadow pigmentation and staying power.
3. When forms ‘C’ black has dried, apply a dark brown eye shadow or liner inside the ‘C’ forms.

For any of you who aren’t familiar with the show, Dexter is about a serial killer of the same name, who works by day as a forensic analyst for the Miami police department, and by night, cleansing the city of the evil criminals who slip through the cracks of our faulty judicial system. Every serial killer has to keep his mementos and Dexter’s trophy case, consists of a box of slides, each containing one drop of blood from each victim.

| Whiten Your Teeth the Natural Way |
19 Nov |
The secret to this inexpensive home whitening method is malic acid, which acts as an astringent to remove surface discoloration. Combined with baking soda, strawberries become a natural tooth-cleanser, buffing away stains from coffee, red wine, and dark sodas. While it’s no replacement for a bleaching treatment at your dentist’s office, “this is a fast, cheap way to brighten your smile,” says Adina Carrel, DMD, a dentist in private practice at Manhattan Dental Arts in New York. “Be careful not to use this too often, though, as the acid could damage the enamel on your teeth.”
You need:
1 ripe strawberry
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Directions: Crush the strawberry to a pulp, then mix with the baking soda until blended. Use a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth. Leave on for 5 minutes, then brush thoroughly with toothpaste to remove the berry–baking soda mix. Rinse. (A little floss will help get rid of any strawberry seeds.) Carrel says you can apply once a week.

Although I despise the color red, for some reason I’m drawn to it as an accent color for my garden. I was shopping around at the plant nursery and found “Sum and Substance” hosta, which is one of the largest hostas and only paid $6 for a quart sized plant.

I came up with the idea that I wanted a huge terra cotta pot painted red to really contrast the color of the hosta and show it off. First I had to shop around for the best deal on pots and ended up at Garden Ridge. Everything there was 25% off so I got a 24″ pot for $20. Next, I went to Ace Hardware and got a gallon of exterior high gloss paint. I bought a gallon because I expect to do tons of pots in this color, but a quart should be enough to complete 1 pot.
With 2 coats of paint, I ended up with this….

Pots like this usually retail for over $100.

Breakfast is never all that interesting or humorous. Then again for me that’s partially because I’m a bit of a zombie in the morning. Well if you’d like to spice up your boring eggs, now you can. You can turn your eggs into the shape of a gun. Which if you have a son that’s stubborn with eggs, it might be the one way you can get him to eat them. What’s even more exciting is that this can also be used to cut cookies and sandwiches.

| Pinhole Camera |
17 Apr |
A pinhole camera uses a very small hole to create a lens for the light to enter and expose the film. These cameras can be downloaded and printed at your computer, built, and used to make your own pinhole camera!
You will need:
* A printer
* Some good printer paper
* One thin cereal box for the light-safe interior
* A razor blade for cutting
* Some double-sided tape or glue
* Thin needle for making a pinhole
* Small piece of aluminum foil or soda can to puncture with the needle
* One new roll of film, preferably ISO200
* One film canister from which the film has been removed. You can empty a new roll, or get an empty canister at any photo supply store.
